EMMA RUCKERTeacher, friend of Jesus, dog mom, Harrie/SwiftiE
Likes: Quality time with my family and friends, watching tv (Vampire Diaries, Scandal, New Girl, and Workin’ Moms), Italian and barbecue food, working with kids Dislikes: Eggs, cold weather, disorganization, driving over train tracks Emma grew up in Topeka, Kansas, with her parents and two older siblings. Leadership, curiosity, and community were instilled in her while growing up. She used that to learn how to be driven and passionate in everything she does. Emma is currently attending the University of Missouri-Kansas City pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. She has always wanted to make an impact on the community by serving and devoting her time to help underprivileged communities. Emma plans to use my degree to work in social services. She is also a member of Delta Zeta at her University. She has been given numerous opportunities to grow in leadership through this organization, and it has taught her in many ways how to plan events, be academically driven, and live graciously. Emma is also a preschool teacher. She has worked in childcare for four years. She became interested in working with children after being blessed with a little sister while in High School. Emma got to become a big sister and a role model. Soon after, her passion for teaching began to grow. It is a joy for her everyday to be able to love and teach her students. Emma hopes to continue her work with children after college. Emma shared that she is excited to intern with KC Kansas Angels this fall semester. She heard about this organization through a service group, since then, she has been intrigued about the ways she could get involved. Emma looks forward to deepening her understanding of the foster care system and figuring out the many ways she can make an impact. |
