TEENA WILKIE
Believer. Mom. Wife. Foster mama. Fierce.
Likes: Indoor plants, Bible studies, God, Books, working out, sports, brunch, planning, creating, and watching Romantic Comedies
Dislikes: Snakes, bugs, messy house, unplanned days, peanut butter and chocolate.
I was born and raised in southwest Kansas and I went to college at Fort Hays State University to pursue a degree in social work. I met my husband there and we eventually got married and had 3 beautiful kids. I worked as a children’s case manager at a mental health center for several years before we decided to move to the Olathe area 9 years ago for my husband’s job. We now have grown our family by 2 furry paws and previous foster children who have lived in our home are now forever part of our lives.
Two years after moving to Olathe we were asked to foster. We become foster parents overnight. It has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We continue to work in the foster community by advocating for families and providing support where needed. When I was asked to join KC Kansas Angels as a case manager I could not turn down the offer. I am excited to continue to work with the families and foster kids. It is something I am very passionate about and I can’t wait to continue to work to help make a difference.
